Salem Nayef Saeed Al-Akhdar Al-Kathiri also known as Salem Nayef is the acting President of United Arab Emirates Volleyball Federation. He secured this position in the year of 2016, and still continuing the great work leading from the front. Salem Nayef is also the member of the Board of Directors of the National Olympic Committee of the United Arab Emirates, and Executive Director of Baniyas Sports Club.
Salem Nayef has come a long way to touch this beautiful platform of his life. He was born in a village of United Arab Emirates, and had tremendous interest in sports from childhood. His love towards this field encouraged him to choose sports as an occupation in future. Salem Nayef used to practice various sports in daily life. He grew this habbit, and worked on it since his school days.
Salem Nayef completed his degree in strategic planning, and also secured a diploma in Sports management from University of Sharjah. Salem Nayef never compromised on education, and continued his studies. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Law from Cairo University, and also did diploma in management engineering. The right combination of law, sports, and management in his academic years helped him to achieve success later in life.
When hobby or passion gets the light of education, it creates the brightest star, and the same thing happened with Salem Nayef. He conducted several sports delegations in Gulf, Arab and Asian championships. He was also a member of the Supreme Committee for Tribal Celebrations.
36 years old Salem Nayef has acquired great success in these few years of his life. The list of his achievements is quite longer than his age. He is a live example of “age does not define experience and fame”.
In 2011, he became the Member of the Board of Directors of the General Sports Federation of Governmental Institutions for His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
In 2012, Salem Nayef was promoted to Assistant Secretary General of the above mentioned institution. This year he also became the Member of the Board of Directors of the United Arab Emirates Volleyball Federation nominated by His Highness Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan – Honorary President of the Emirates Volleyball Federation.
Salem Nayef became the Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Local Departments Takaful Fund in 2013, and secured the prestigious position of First Vice President of the United Arab Emirates Volleyball Federation in 2015.
