Making his way to the top and in the hearts of listeners, enter musical artist Dwayne Kirkland, aka D Kirk KV.

D Kirk KV beautifully combines R&B and the Islands in his music, giving it both a sweet and a spicy vibe, which he believes helps him stand unique in the industry.

A lot has already been spoken about how a few people have worked day in and day out to create a unique name for themselves in their respective industries around the world. Still, it feels much more discussions are needed around them for the world to know their genius and imbue more hope, positivity, and motivation in other budding talents vying to make their mark in those industries. We couldn’t help but notice how a certain young talent in the music world did the same and went ahead in becoming an inspirational story for others. We are talking about Dwayne Kirkland, most famously known by his stage name D Kirk KV.

Though in life he is known by his real name, in the music space, whenever R&B and Island music is played, people know him as D Kirk KV, thanks to his rich island heritage, as he originates from the east coast of Philadelphia and has a west coast style and swagger in music. Since his family and friends are of tropical descent or are Caribbean and Jamaican, he uses the sounds and the feelings of the Island style dancehall beats in his songs, and that’s something that has always helped him stand unique from the rest of the industry.

He mentions how everything started for him while he was in college. It was a place he believed which gave him the chance to express himself, and music became the medium for the same. This eventually took him towards writing as well. Today, he is a known singer, songwriter, and musical artist, whose combination of R&B and the Islands has given listeners a sweet as well as a spicy vibe, compelling people to take trips to the Islands; such is the incredible music he creates.

D Kirk KV (@dkirk_kv) has been highly inspired by artists like Kid Ink, J. Cole, Tyga, and more. In fact, if given a chance, he would also like to open for Kid Ink because he has inspired much of how he became the artist he is today. He attributes his success to his father, who was a DJ, and his constant exposure to music by Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, LL Cool J, and other greats.
